KICK-OFF Meeting
On 6–7 November, the FlexCycle partners met in Genoa at the IIT Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS) to officially launch this ambitious Horizon Europe project. The two-day Kick-off Meeting brought together researchers, engineers, and experts from across Europe to start shaping a new approach to recycling soft materials through flexible robotics and intelligent automation.
During the sessions, the project coordinator and all partners introduced their teams, shared their perspectives, and presented the first steps of the work ahead. The discussions focused on how FlexCycle will develop adaptable robotic tools and smart software to help recycle items like textiles, cables, and membranes more efficiently — supporting a cleaner and more sustainable future.
Participants also had the chance to tour the IIT laboratories, where they could see demonstrations of advanced robots, innovative grippers, and other technologies that will play a key role in the project. These hands-on moments offered a glimpse into the creative and collaborative spirit that drives FlexCycle.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of enthusiasm and teamwork. With partners aligned and motivated, FlexCycle is now ready to begin its exciting journey toward innovative recycling solutions that contribute to the circular economy and the European Green Deal.
